Math Olympiad
Welcome to Math Olympiad
Light and Salt Academy (LAS), in partnership with the student-led MathBeyond Club, provides mathematics enrichment and opportunities to participate in the Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS).
Our program helps students progress from regular mathematics tutoring to advanced problem-solving and mathematics competitions.
High school volunteer mentors provide ongoing online tutoring, recognize students who demonstrate outstanding mathematical potential, and guide interested students through specialized Math Olympiad preparation.
Our mission goes beyond competition. We help students develop mathematical confidence, curiosity, creativity, perseverance, and a lifelong love of learning.

MathBeyond was founded in May 2024 by Minjun Choi to help younger students build confidence in mathematics, develop creative problem-solving skills, and discover the joy of learning together.
Through regular online mathematics tutoring, MathBeyond members mentor students, help improve their academic performance, and encourage them to explore challenging mathematical concepts.
MathBeyond expanded its mission by preparing selected students for Math Olympiad competitions. During the 2025–2026 school year, MathBeyond organized MOEMS participation at Light and Salt Academy.
